BRIEF

Open-plan living–kitchen–office for visiting artists or longer stays within the adaptive reuse of a community-run building. Separations define distinct areas without enclosure. Programmable colour lighting and a projection/blackout wall deliver adaptable ambience and media capability tuned to user mood and use.

CONCEPT

A residency-oriented cultural hub that preserves Exarcheia’s alternative, experimental character while adapting to contemporary needs. Within this framework, Penthouse Apartment acts as a residency unit that bridges private retreat and the centre’s public programme. Light, image, and partial thresholds act as spatial layers rather than fixed rooms—supporting temporary artist exchange and production while respecting the neighbourhood’s cultural fabric and multicultural identity.
